vegetarian insulin

Hi I'm currently LADA without meds but on the point of starting insulin. I've been summons to the GP tomorrow for an 'urgent discussion' so am guessing my latest blood results are not the best and its finally insulin time. But I'm a 'strict as possible' vegetarian for the last 40 years and know I'm in for a battle to ensure I get vegetarian insulin. Any advice on which insulin is or isn't fit for a veggie???? Thanks loads, Sue x
 
Hi and welcome to the forum, most insulin's these days are manmade so suitable for vegetarian's unless you have a specific need for porcine or bovine insulin you will get the man made variety.

Thank you loads!!! I always seem to have such a fight to get a veggie version for my other meds that I was preparing myself! At least now I know Im in with a chance lol. Sue xx
