Very angry

Just been told over the ‘phone that I have neuropathy after being type 1 for 45 years. I rang the surgery a month ago after having a nerve conduction test and they said as I’d not heard from them it meant my results were normal. Well guess what? Ive just rung as I’m feeling pretty rough and I’ve got it in my hands and feet and what’s more the GP was rude and abrupt and questioned if I could hear him as I was so stunned. This happened two years ago when I was tested for coeliac disease. The same surgery failed to tell me my blood test was positive and I should go for a biopsy for a year….Should I go for the Alpha Lipoic Acid route as apparently it’s ‘mild neuropathy’? Although the GP needs to see me trying to walk before he makes that comment. Am so upset about it. Any advice on it all? I’m doing lo carb and eating a healthy veggie diet. I’m not going back on anything like opiates again - I’m also epileptic and they don’t agree with me xxx
 
Any chance you could change to a different surgery?

That’s an interesting link. I’m also coeliac. My last test was also ‘normal’ but I might take some B vitamins to be sure. Thank you. Btw totally disarmed by a nice GP.

Don't let them fool ya!
 
Never, ever rely on the surgery to inform you of bad test results. Always ask and also register for online access to your surgery's system so you can view your non-hospital test results.
 
I’ve just rung them and asked why my results weren’t on their system. She was really arsey and said it wasn’t their fault but the NHS? I wanted the results to show subsequent consultants so now have a paper copy. Quaint. X
 
I conniecar I have quite severe neuropathy in my feet and hands fingers thumbs I’m on a cream called cappacicyn 25/75 percent you only need a pea size drop on the areas which are unbearable and believe me this does work I’ve managed to get it on prescription but you need a consultant to prescribe this a doctor can’t or a pain management specialist can also prescribe this cream they keep it quiet I believe because it is very expensive but honestly the best thing for neuropathy I’ve been on every pain killer and nerve blockers you can think of . I personally can’t walk without it and it works within 15/20 minutes.you do have to be very careful with it like don’t touch your nose eyes after aplying it I rubbed my nose after first use I couldn’t feel my noseb for about 3hours weird sensation good look getting it it really does work .
