Hello
Yesterday ( and on the advice of DN) I dropped off my midday Metformin tablet, so that I just have one in morning and one in the evening with meals.
During the night something strange happened to me, which woke me in the early hours.
I suddenly got a sensation in the top of my head as if I was about to go extremely dizzy ( but didn't), followed immediately by pins and needles starting in my feet and travelling up my legs ... in my arms also at the same time.
This woke me up and lasted just seconds but I've never experienced anything like it before.
Has this happened to anyone else on here please, and do you suppose it's connected to dropping off the midday tablet?
Should I be concerned?
Thank you for any advice to stop me worrying

I would definitely see your doctor just in case it is something that needs treatment.

I take it that this must be unusual then? I am newly diagnosed ( end of January 2016)

I don't know but anything that is not normal for you and you are concerned about should be followed up just in case it is something that requires treatment. I am not a doctor but if I had those symptoms I would see my doctor.

It may be nothing to do with your diabetes. In any event, I agree with the need to see your doctor.

I agree completely. You need to tell your doctor.

I doubt very much it has anything at all to dropping your tablet. Plenty of people forget to take a tablet accidentally and have no problems. Metformin builds up in your system over time and takes a long time to work its way out again.

Thank you for the comments. I guess I was hoping that a few would say it happened to them also. I will see my doctor ... much as I hate going

Me too but sometimes it is necessary. Hopefully it will be a waste of ime and you will be fine but better to get anything abnormal checked out.

Well I didn't go to the doctors.I can't bring myself to go, but if it ever happens again then I will do. Another thing. They gave me a blood pressure monitor to take my pressure twice a day and return to them after 25 readings ... but how on earth do you do it on your own? I had several tries but it's impossible to tighten the band myself. It just pops off everytime I switch the machine on :(
