Can anyone help?
Zoe is 6 and has been diagnosed type 1 for 3 months!
Ive jus noticed that inbetween her toes are very dry and hacked. Two in particular are very hacked.
She has been wearing proper fitting shoes since we found out she was diabetic.
After the bath i make sure they r dry and ask zoe if they feel dry (but then again wot 6 yr old would say no so they have to sit longer!)

Ive read that its common for dry feet and im jus wonderin if anyone has any tips, or names of creams that would help? I have E45 and Savlon and Sudocreme.

thanks

Hi Debbie,

Just be careful which creams you use on your daughters feet, as some creams are not recommended for people with diabetes. Ask your daughters gp for suggestions, at least he will prescribe one on prescription and you won't have to pay, as some are very, very expensive.

I use one called 'Flexitol Heel Balm', but I am unsure if it is suitable for children.

Hi Debbie,

The information I was given was to dry thoroughly between the toes but not to use lotions and potions on that part of the foot.

I think you need to see your GP as Nigel suggests.

Catherine.

Hi. Not sure if this will help or not.
Once a week I sleep with cotton moisturising socks on with lashings of moisturiser on my feet! It does make my feet much softer. Have done it for years!
