Type 2 Very high sugar

hi everyone, I am receiving chemotherapy at the moment and have just recorded blood sugar of 31.7. I have type 2 usually very well controlled. I think it must be the steroids, anyone had similar experience?

Hi Catherine. I was very lucky in that my levels stayed under control when having chemo, but it is known to push them skywards - also steroids are a major culprit, as you suspected. If you can eat nutritious food if possible - not too much starch - it may help. Your body is going through so much, and sometimes it's down to priorities unfortunately.

Hi. Yes it will be the steroids if you are having them. Your reading is very high and I would certainly reduce the carbs right down to help.
