HIGH blood sugars!
For the last week my pre meal blood sugars have been 10 plus and 2 hour post meal have all been fine, I don't know what I am doing wrong I have stopped snaking all together and it doesn't make a difference I have even tried exerciseing inbetween meals but that doesn't help either, I just don't know what to do!! Someone please get back to me.

Hi James,

Can you try some basal testing as suggesting my @CapnGrumpy ?

Let's us know how you get on.

Yes, it does sound like it might be your basal @james122 The only other things to check are that your basal insulin hasn't gone off (swap to a new vial/cartridge/pen to be sure) or that you're injecting the basal somewhere where absorption isn't so good (try injecting in a different place).

Don't panic about the 10s. I know it's annoying, but there's not a single person with Type 1 who hasn't had 10s, 15s or even higher on occasion. You're doing ok

Hi James, other thing to try if it's not your basal is to split your bolus and have half before you eat and the other half either half way through your meal or after it. I have to do that sometimes to avoid going low then high. Even on lower fat meals.

As @azure says though everyone has 10s from time to time (and 15s and very occasionally when you get things spectacularly wrong 20s!)

Of course it doesn't always work, 8 two hours after lunch, 12.5 and heading up 2 and a half hours after lunch. Ar*e!
