I’m 23 and was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 15. I’m a regsitered veterinary nurse and have been qualified for 2 years. I still find it difficult with regards to my blood levels especially when I drop to 2.3 when I’m in surgury! I check my levels and eat if needed beforehand hand but always concious of not going high prior or il need the toilet throughout the op! I feel it makes the job harder! My Hb1c is 71 which I’ve been trying to bring down for forever! What do you other RVNs do to manage this?
