Good evening

My name is Fiona and I am new to this forum. I had my diabetic review today. My consultant was very please with me.However he has suggested that as my wieght is causing both he and I some concern he would like to try me on a new drug called Victoza. I have read the information he provided but it was written by the drug company so there for its going to wonderful. He wants to eventually take me off insulin so has proposed that I take this new drug,insulin and metrofmin together. He plans to review this in 6 months time.

I understand its a new drug on the market but has anyone had experience of this drug. I would appreciate any information you may feel able to share with me.

Dear Fiona,
I have been on victoza in the past and it does work. It is synthetic lizard spit and it tells your brain it is fuller than it actually is (foodwise via the central nervous system). It does work I lost 2 stone in 15 mths and i am off it now as I exercise a lot and my weight is more stable.
Victoza is less sickly than other drugs like exanatide.
