hi,
I am T2 diagnosed nearly 4 years , my biggest problem is side effects from the prescribed medication's, , Metformin. Gliclacide, pioglitazone. I have tried them all but have returned to Metformin because I can tolerate the side effects slightly better than the other two. It has now been suggested that I take a look at Victoza, My Q, is anyone else on this, how are you with it,side effects ect. my HBA1c last count was 60,

Hi I was on Victoza for about 8 months, but had to come off due to the side effects. One of these was upset stomachs especially after eating. Basically everything I ate went straight through me. I'm now on insulin and feel much better. hth's.

I have been on Victoza for over 1 year and it has kept my Blood sugars stable and "Lower". I take this with Metformin (1000g x2 daily) and Glicide (i tablet twice a day). I would be interested to see what other people take with Victoza and size of medication.

My side effect with Victoza is loss of appetite (Proberly a good thing) and occassional urgent trip to the toilet, however this can be managed if you eat small portions only...no big meals! also exercise is key with this type of medicine, the combination helps side affects and produces good results.

I occassionally get violently sick, once in a couple of months, i do not know what causes this reaction but i know it is a reaction with Victoza. it does not happen very often but it does happen. i have been trying to work out what i had ate or my diet during that period. The nurse said that this was proberly down to eating large portions during a period. It gives me warning time as i get the same sensation with this sickness and normally lasts a couple of hours (Feels like novo virus but less worse and only sick).

My summary - it is a Good medicine but needs to be used with exercise and diet monitoring to get best results.

I inject this once a day 1.2Mg although i do reduce to about 0.8 Mg

Hi I am starting on Victoza next friday, got 45 min session at docs to teach me how to inject etc, came out of chemist before laden with needles, sharps bin and got to go back for the actual Victoza on Monday.

One question, how did people feel after their first injection, any advice would be fantastic :D

thx

Hi All

I have been on Victoza for about 4 years now with no problems when I first started to take it I really though I would never last I felt sick constantly could eat and had tummy cramps. But I perserved with it and it took about a month to get over the symptoms but I'm glad I did. Just stick with it though it is easier said then done when trying to hold down a full time job. Good luck

I've been on Victoza 1.2 for a couple of years now. It does make you feel sick when you start it, but it is bloody good. However, I'm starting a new tablet soon instead of the jab as my injection sites have started getting sore and hard. I'll let you all know how I get on.
