Vinegar

I can remember being forced to have a spoonful of cod liver oil every day when I was a kid. I grew to hate it. It was kept in a metal cabinet in the garden. I couldn't take it now but I take Omega 3 tablets - does this do the same as cod liver oil does? (This has nothing to do with vinegar!)

I can honestly say I've not had it repeat, although I always ensure that I take my oil prior to eating as I said earlier, but would imagine taking it on a empty stomach it could repeat. The rest of my family take it in capsule form, but there's no way I can convince them to take the liquid cod liver oil from the spoon. :?

I have been taking cider vinegar for rhmourtoid athritis long befor being diagnosed as T2 ,an old boy told me he took it for years for the same thing so i tried it and it worked for me ,i also noticed
that i got a lower bg when i took it ,sometimes i did not take it for days then my shoulders started playing up and i would start taking it again and noticed that the bg went down /eg common bg for me would be around the 8.5 after the vinegar it would go down to around 6.2 /6.5 ,problem is when i go down around 7/7.5 i start to get headaches and have to lay down and sleep so on one hand i get the numbers down but on the other hand the numbers dont suit me ,i supose spending all of my life eating what i wanted when i wanted it my system got used to a higher than average bg level and it will take some time to get used to the lower level .[in another life i weighed 13.5 max and stand at 5ft 11 ,now im down to 11.5 doesnt it annoy you when everybody thinks T2,s are all porkers

I would not recomend anyone try it with out talking with your doctor first as people tend to jump down your throat ,but it does stop my athritis pain and it did give me a lower bg [this figure was given over a 3day period testing 3 times a day [yes i know its not a cirtified test] but it works for me :

Digestion of carbohydrates uses enzymes [amylases] that work optimally in an alkaline environment. If you change to an acid environment[remember vinegar is ethanoic acid] you reduce the efficiency of the enzyme.

I add vinegar, vinegar based dressings or lemon/lime juice to suitable foods and it does have a lowering effect for me. I do not take it on it's own.

Hi .Can you please make a little clearer do you mean that if we take vinegar it will affect the digestion of carbs.
