virus or not !

I have been struck down yet again by I'm not sure what , I'm 40 and have type 1 since I was 10. I have had this before but not as bad, both my legs very painful now my knees hurt with one slightly swollen.when I first had this I was told it was a virus,this is affecting my whole day to day life including my family around me, iv now had more blood tests which came back clear and have been referred to a ryhmertologist. I'm really struggling to understand what this could be ,not much help from gp or diabetic nurse....has anyone experienced anything like this ,, thanks x

None I'm afraid. Be aware that you may need to increase your insulin as illness usually pushes up blood sugar.

Yes spoke to nurse today and she said to up my background insulin, which I will start in the morning.thank you !

Sounds nasty happyjojo and I hope they find the cause and can treat it, I see your on a basal/bolus insulin regime, if your unsure about the Sick Day Rules have a read off the following:

Thank you ill refresh on this, just would like to get bk to normal,not used to very so awful and not much help from doctors!
