vision blurry

my recent hba1c was 73 which is 8.8 i know this is bad im now trying to keep tighter control between 6-10 mmols i noticed my vision is blurry is this normal?

Hi @static192 ,

Yep, high blood sugars affect your vision. You probably got used to it and didn't even realise, so if you bring your glucose levels down quickly then you will notice your eyes trying to re-adjust.

It usually sorts itself out in a week or 2 from recollection.

As @urbanracer says, a change in blood sugar levels can have a temporary effect on eyesight (by altering the focussing power of the lens) which improves after the levels stabilise. However, maculopathy (retinopathy in the central part of the retina) can also cause blurring and would need treatment. To be on the safe side, if the blurriness doesn't improve after a couple of weeks, see your optician.
