Folks,
Covered a lot of ground during the visit. GP seemed very interested in my bone density (due to long term steroid use 20years+), couldn't find my last report but I assured him that 4years ago they found that my bone had become slightly more dense thereby recovering a little from its parlous state. This was a surprise as he advised that this rarely, if ever, occurred. Saw no point in either GAD/c-peptide as they know my diabetes and are concerned only in treating it. I suppose in one sense they are quite right in this view but it wasnt easy to accept. So long as my treatment is OK I won't mind too much.
My thyroid results in Oct13 weren't quite right so I am having them re-tested as part of my review. The results last time showed that TSH was low and TF4 was about right. Obviously I am already on levothyroxine just not enough but this, will be adjusted when the results of the upcoming tests are known.
Got my letter re: sharps so that I can fly abroad for a trip or two . . . . . . I may just try a trip here in UK as my confidence has taken a knock having been feeling so ill for most of last year, then I'll have a trip overseas.
I see my DNS on 18 March for my review, will be interesting to know A1C result as it is an average of the past three months. Several other tests have been included, LFT, kidney etc.
I've been doing my best over the past months to be positive about this latest health blow but it is difficult you know, damned difficult, but that how it is and I need to manage that. My brother and family are very supportive with calls 3/4 times a week; sister in law came over for a coffee and a trip to the shops, was good to spend time together. Travelling has been difficult the past weeks due to roads being flooded and cut-off and many still are, doesn't help much.
I fear that I may now be rambling so will cease writing before readers lose the will to live. Lol
