My GP (Dr Doom).
Evening,

I've posted on this subject before but things became lost in the translation for me. So, I have been taking D3 for about 9 days now and I have noticed a lift in my mood, I feel more positive want to do things rather than put them off and I've taken nor done nothing else that would have made this change, so I'm chalking it up to me taking the D3. I mis-read the label when I bought them, I thought I was taking 10,000 IU's per capsule it's actually 1,000 IU's per capsule, they are gels.

Questions therefore; I'm taking 2-3 gel tablets per day, I know RDA is 600-800 IU's but many people seem to take far greater. Is that dose OK - no risks - no problems? what to look out for is there are side effects?

I've read that I should be taking Magnesium with Vitamin D3, is that right? if so what sort of dose please? I've earmarked a product that has Magnesium and vitamin B6 is that a good idea?

What benefits can I expect \ have you had from taking Magnesium or B6? I'd like to buy some tonight if the response is positive and hope the Vitamin D3 comes recommended. I'm sorry for the duplicate post but I didn't quite grasp the very detailed responses the last time. Hope this day has found you well, Kind regards, Q..

After being diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency, I am prescribed two Calcichew D3 Forte by my GP, which contains 400 IU Vitamin D3 and Calcium carbonate 1250 mg each. I also take 2000 IU of additional Vitamin D3 and 300 mg Magnesium.

I take the magnesium because I take the calcium as I read that if you don't take the magnesium you can get out of balance with the calcium http://drsircus.com/medicine/magnesium/ ... cification

I find that supplementing Vitamin D does lift mood and lessens fatigue. Doctors are unwilling to test for Vitamin D deficiency as they say the test is expensive. There is a postal Vitamin D test available from http://www.vitamindtest.org.uk/ and costs £25 and is undertaken by an NHS Trust in Birmingham.

I was mis-diagnosed with chronic fatigue, when it was vitamin D deficiency all along. Anyone who spends a lot of time indoors is more likely to get Vitamin D deficiency.

This is an interesting article about Vitamin D and Type 2 http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/health-c ... -diabetes/

Thank you Denise, very good indeed. Q..

Totally agree with Denise on benefits. Although I also take other vitamins too and 1/2 a dozen walnuts each day as well.

Since taking vitamin D3 my mood, my tiredness improved immensely and having fantastic energy levels is amazing to me from previously being diagnosed with fibromyalgia... I actually feel 15 again... Not 50.

I know its the D3 that has made the enormous difference and despite my GP's refusing the test I know the changes in me occured after starting the D3 supplements. I take magnesium too. I take 3 x 1000mcg a day, but I also get a good qty of sunshine working outdoors...

When I had the vit D done by injection, I think the dose I had was 300,000iu. Not sure why exactly that my vit D levels dropped but suspect it was due to me taking a statin which made my cholesterol levels drop but also influenced my vit D levels as well.

I also use a daily dissolve in water Berocca tablet which contains all the vital vit B, plus magnesium and vit C and an Ocuvite Complete for eye health which contains all the Omega 3.

Cant say that vit D has made me much perkier but it has stopped the leg cramp in bed so am pleased about that.

Thank you for taking the time the post, could you tell me where you buy what you're taking and what to ask for. Thank you, Q..
