It seems that rather than thinning the blood, it helps it to clot. If this is the case, it could stop blood thinning medicines from doing their job.
My husband is on Warfarin due to a pace-maker and mechanical heart valve and when he an unplanned op last year they had to give him a vit k jab to thicken his blood the day before the op. He enjoys broccoli and other greens but I don't tend to cook too much or too often because of the affect it may have on his blood.
