@mummycaz I take nutritional supplements, including vitamin D. I take them as I have an absorption issue due to coeliac. I tried to find out how much, but all I get is a % of daily needs; So I take around 16%. I also enjoy gardening, so I’m outside. Here in Western Canada we have been around 23 c give or take 3 degrees. So I‘m guessing I get a fair bit of Vitamin D. I really can’t say If I feel the effects.

Obviously there could be any number of things that maybe picked up in a blood panel. I’m assuming that is something you have had done recently or going to ask for.

I asked your age and what your stress levels are like because from my own personal experience both have messed with my well being. Age because I still get hot flashes from time to time 15 years after going through menopause. Clearly, my hormones must still be all over the place, low Estrogen levels that cause mood swings, night sweats, foggy brain and on and on.

Stress is a real doozy too. I’ve worked in very stressful environments, so stressful in fact we had to attend mandatory psychological testing. Many of the issues you describe could cause those symptoms, especially if the stresses you are under are overwhelming. Stress as we all know drive up our blood sugars. I was with my eye specialist yesterday afternoon, my blood sugars didn’t drop below 9 mmol/ls the entire time. I wouldn’t, discount the effects of stress, but you do need to get those symptoms checked out. I wish you well.

Hi @LonelyFatGuy . My reply was not aimed at you specifically. More a general observation so people can make informed choices on whether or not they should take vitamin supplements.
To answer your question, though, I was prescribed
Evacal D3 1500 mg/400 iu chewable tablets (1 x twice a day) by GP following routine blood tests and diabetes review in 2015. My VitD levels were deemed to be way below optimum. I started to feel ill the following year with abdominal discomfort, fatigue, bone pain. This was attributed to other health conditions such as arthritis and allergies. No change made to prescription, as no connection was made.

Since the covid pandemic blood tests and GP appointments have been almost nonexistent for a while. In July last year I was ill with severe abdominal pain. Found to have raised vit D and extremely high calcium levels and parathyroid levels in blood. So the prescribed Vit D was changed to one without calcium, Colecalciferol (Vitamin D3) 400 iu, once a day. In January there was no improvement, so endocrinologist stopped all Vit D supplements after blood tests showed hypervitaminosis D and hyperparathyroidism.
I have been listening to several doctors who have stated that too many people are taking high doses of calcium and it is causing these issues, it can be worth having a bone density scan as it may be that some don’t even need a calcium supplement.

Hi Everone, Just a bit of advice. I am type 2 and just lately have been feeling really run down, resulting in mouth ulcers, tongue spots, sinusitis and now this week a very sore cyst growing on my neck, right next to the Lipoma I have had for years. I take vitamin D every day (1 tablet) and wondered if anyone could advice any other vitamins that might give me a bit of a boost, mentally and physically. I am really struggling with life at the moment and seem to be in a constant state of anxiety which isnt helped with all these little health issues popping up! Thank you for your time and any help you can give me, I really do appreciate it. x
I can see that nobody has mentioned this, possibly because it’s a little known issue (mainstream media not reporting) but worth mentioning, if you have had the C19 injections it could be those because millions of people are complaining about adverse events after getting them, many are quite serious, heart attacks, stroke etc but also minor issues like the ones you describe.
It might be worth getting a private blood test done to check if there are any abnormal blood cells.
Hope you manage to get to the bottom of it
