Seems like that beach holiday shape aint no aspirational fad... 8)
"researchers from the Medical Research Council (MRC) Epidemiology Unit, UK, reported in PLoS Medicine. The authors explained that overweight people with a large waist, over 102cm (40.2 inches) for men and over 88cm (34.6 inches) for women, have approximately the same or higher risk of eventually developing diabetes type 2 as obese individuals."
"They found that:
7% of males with a large waist who were overweight eventually developed diabetes type 2 within ten years
4% of females with a large waist who were overweight eventually developed diabetes type 2 within ten years"
A large sample study so when will the general pop be alerted to this risk and get info on how to achieve the near-impossible? 8)
Mine is ok now but only after diagnosis... I think of it as something I wanted for years but shame about how I had to get there...
