Hello, how long have you been waiting for your gad and c peptide test results to come please?

I was admitted to the hospital with DKA and the tests were referred through the hospital and sent away.

For me, the C Peptide took about a week. The GAD was 3/4 weeks. I had the tests done privately so unsure if it makes any difference to get the results.

I had my blood tests on 15th December and the C-peptide came back on New Year's Eve, the GAD etc took a couple of weeks longer, I was warned it could be 6-8 weeks, but don't know if this was due to Xmas/New Year/Covid or just how long it takes. Assuming yours have gone to Exeter?

It's a horrible wait and feels like months! Be warned though, I was told definitely T2 due to my high C-pep, then got all three antibodies positive, so I wouldn't hang out the bunting until the second results come in:)

Fingers crossed yours don't take too long.

Thank you for your replies.

I was discharged on the 15th of Feb from the hospital (I spent there a week). They sent the samples off during the week I was there at the hospital. Not sure where exactly they sent them to thou. I got a text message from the King's College Hospital in London about my 'continuing care' and that I would get further correspondence by post.. nothing since.

My GP is actually really good and supporting. She prescribed me everything I needed but she told me, we would be in a limbo until we knew the results. She told me that me being type 1 (or LADA) could be in my advantage as I am insulin dependent now.

I guess it is a waiting game now
