Why do I always seem to wake up about 3.30-4.30ish hungry? Have done my bloods then but not too low, tried having a bit to eat.Bloods levels no different to normal when I test on getting up. Even when I have supper I wake up during the night. I'm not cutting back on my normal meals so I can't understand it.
I take 2 x 850 mg glucophage a day.

I often do the same thing as you. I sometimes wonder if it is hormonal or perhaps we just are hungry. I hope someone who knows more than me can answer this. Good question.

What are your bgl's at that time. I often find that if I go high I feel hungry. In the middle of the night I have noticed that I go low then my liver dumps some glycogen and I go higher than usual and that is when I feel hungry and it usually is between 3 and 4 am. For me, I am pretty sure this is the reason.

I have often had this myself but then I have a problem with sleep anyway but I will say that often we mistake hunger for thirst so if you feel hungry trying drinking and then wait for half an hour and if you are still hungry it is hunger but more often than not you will find that the feeling goes altogether because it was thirst. Hope that will help you. ;)
