Walk-away from Type II Diabetes

Hopefully this isn't news to anyone. There is research more than a decade old that had similar findings.

Common sense should dictate that it isn't wise to maintain a sedentary lifestyle.

That's true. It always amazes me when the article indicates that it's brand new research for something that has been around for a very very long time.
 
I think the emphasis should.be.more on diet. I have always done well over 150 mins of walking a week but it didnt pregent me from getting T2, it wasnt until I changed my diet that it made any difference to my BS and I now do less walking than I used to but my diabetes is in remission. Honestly why do they keep researching what we already know.
 
Well walking medium or brisk pace certainly helps with my blood pressure readings. Not much effect on the BGs though, sometimes they are higher after a walk. No weight loss by walking either. I guess weight loss is the main key for me and that's still very slow.
 
Best I get from exercise now is liver dumps :eek: - but housework and a generally active life (of which walking was just a part) used to to keep my fit before I got old and past it... But being rather inactive now from ancient decrepitude hasn't prevented me from losing a fair bit of weight and dramatically reducing my glucose levels over the last 2 years - for which I have to give complete credit to my LCHF diet.
