Hi all - I am once again trying to understand what all the things that impact my blood glucose. I use a Libre freestyle just at the moment to get really informative data in these early stages (diagnosed just a few weeks ago).
So today I had a reasonably large breakfast - all protein and fats - just some tinned tomatoes which did add some sugar as a result but I had less than a qtr of a can. And of course and as expected my BG rose over two hours by a little under 2mmol but it kind of stayed there for over two hours so I decided to do a walk. When I did that my BG went up by a further .5mmol pushing me about 2.3mmol over the original fasting BG.
The BG hovered around these figures the entire time I was walking which was about an hour. And I was mixing up a bit of fast pace and leisurely stroll.
When I got home they dropped like a lead balloon 2 then 2.5 came off within 15-20mins.
Is that normal to see you BG rise so much with brisk walking and is that ok or just as bad as eating?
I have eaten since and my BG doesn't blip at all in fact even after eating it is falling and currently at 4.2 an hour in.
I also find overnight my BG just goes down and down and in the early hours I am dropping below 3 then up a bit then drop again. Again when I woke up according to Libre I was 3.9 but just getting up cleaning my teeth and going downstairs caused it to go up to about 4.8.
Just interested in all of the things that raise my BG and what ones to be really concerned about and what ones are ok.
Thank you
