If you have some spare carb allowance, and enjoy porridge, then oatbran is the same as porridge, but with less carbs and more fibre. A tablespoon of it on yogurt is delicious and works wonderfully. You can add it to stews and gravies too, although the texture isn't smooth.
I must admit that since I dropped my carbs from av 70g to av 40 g, things have slowed down. And my fitness pal has my fibre intake much lower than it should be.
With 3 great aunts who died of bowel cancer, I should know better!
