Hello all,
I am sure that there have been plenty of similar posts but I am feeling quite alone and frightened and would love some advice.
Prior to getting pregnant, my HbA1C was 6.6 with very few lows or highs, largely based on a low carb diet. Since morning sickness has kicked in, I have really struggled with low carb and have gone back to eating more carb based snacks (it is all I can face some days!). Even though I am using my ratio and think I am calculating everything right, I have suddenly found myself getting lots of readings over 10. I seem to get at least one or two 12s each day!!!
In my first few weeks of pregnancy I was having five or six hypos each day, now I probably have only one and in between that I am sitting much higher, probably averaging around 7 with spikes over 10.
I am now terrified that I have done damage as we are only at week 8.
Did anyone else have similar experiences or have any advice? I have emailed my specialist but she was quite blasé about it.

Hey. Congratulations! :) It was really hard for me to enjoy the pregnancy in first few months. My sugars were all over the place at around week 8 aswell. I used to get 17 and even 20 after meals. Seemed like insulin does not work for me at all. I wasn't on the insulin pomp. So what helped me was to take insulin 15 minutes before I start eating. And sure I started to increase the dose. I got back to hypos around week 13 and high sugars came back at around week 20-23.
Talk to your baby and trust your body. Being anxious will not help. My pregnancy was without any complications despite of high reading in the beginning. And my baby girl is healthy little miracle. :)
Good luck and stay positive!
