Hello all,
I am sure that there have been plenty of similar posts but I am feeling quite alone and frightened and would love some advice.
Prior to getting pregnant, my HbA1C was 6.6 with very few lows or highs, largely based on a low carb diet. Since morning sickness has kicked in, I have really struggled with low carb and have gone back to eating more carb based snacks (it is all I can face some days!). Even though I am using my ratio and think I am calculating everything right, I have suddenly found myself getting lots of readings over 10. I seem to get at least one or two 12s each day!!!
In my first few weeks of pregnancy I was having five or six hypos each day, now I probably have only one and in between that I am sitting much higher, probably averaging around 7 with spikes over 10.
I am now terrified that I have done damage as we are only at week 8.
Did anyone else have similar experiences or have any advice? I have emailed my specialist but she was quite blasé about it.
