Weight gain with Insulin

I do not want to eat when my BG is low.
I get the opposite of hypo munchies.
Same here, I absolutely hate food when I'm low.
But as long as I treat without liking it it's no issue, and it makes it easier to not overtreat as well.

I do make sure to have something sweet I actually like with me though, (winegums, licorice, honey), no dextro for me. I'd have a really hard time forcing something tasting that vile into myself when hypo, so I'm better off with something acting slightly slower which I will actually eat.

It is only concerning if I deliberately avoid eating when low.
i have enough self control to force myself to eat fast acting carbs when I hypo. Thankfully, as I use a pump, I do not have to follow up with the 15g of slow acting carbs so it is not that hard to manage.
it also helps me Identify a hypo.

So nothing to be concerned about.
It’s closer to 10g of slow for me with the basal.
I’ll take an “introductory” 5g of fast acting if I gotta be on the move with work…

I don’t care what I use.

Just the practicality of keeping it together in a fast paced situation…

That may be what it is FOR YOU but the recommendation now is 15/15/15
15g of fast acting carbs
Wait 15 minutes
15g slow acting carbs.

Some people may find they need less but we should take care not to detract from the current recommended advice.

Thanks for the feedback. Following “this” would indeed send me uncomfortably into the mid or may be, late teens.
But that just me understanding the differences regarding my own individuality..

Is a link to the source, possible..?
