I've been trying to lose weight from 89 kilos for more than three months now. I am recording what happens in terms of my will power on my blog in an attempt to make sense of what is actually happening at each point I eat more and thus stop the weight loss in its tracks. I seem to naturally all into a feasting / fasting cycle of a few days of each.
.I haven't seen any research on exactly how your body arrives at the "natural " set point in terms of the weight your body fluctuates around.
I am beginning to think though that one part of that might be - that that point is when you are the most energy efficient -in terms of the combination of blood sugars and ketones being used in the body .
This seems to be exactly where I currently am. Its hard to see how one can get any lower than a fasting average blood sugar of 3.9 (today's reading ) and ketones of only 0.5 with an under 30g carbs . diet. According to this research this seems to put me at the extreme optimal end of the total energy charts.

Maybe that helps explain why I fluctuate around the same point and my mind does not allow me to overcome the temptations every few days? Does anyone else have any figures around total energy ( bs and ketones) versus actual weight ? or any observations on " total energy" as a concept ?
