It's one of thoe things that weight loss doesn't happen where you want it to. Specific exercise might help, but not by much.

It'll come off where it wants too im afraid, ive lost 2stone+ and most of that was off my back and chest, i still have a big gut, and its only now coming off my face, where i wanted it off in the first place!

Me too ...I'd love to loose weight quicker from my middle, but my GP insists that being the first place to gain fatty tissue, it will always be the last to loose the stored reserve... :(

I'm really sorry but a persistently fat tummy is my experience too. Always had skinny arms and legs. I've now dropped a bra size too but the little fat Buddha tummy sticks like glue. They do say that apple shapes are more likely to be diabetically-inclined in the first place....
Cheers, BB :D

Hello jessysmum and welcome to the forum! :D

My friend refers to her 'diabetic tum' but it is probably not restricted to diabetes as it seems to be a general problem.

Hi Guys & Ladies,

Interesting thread......

I have the complete opposite! :? :? :?

6 1/2 weeks ago, I weighed myself, I was 15 stone 11lbs, just before changing insulins ( I am kinda keeping a diary)

Today, I decided to weigh myself...... I am 14 stone 6lbs!

Where I have lost it....... Basically, around my middle, on my face & lost a bit on my legs!
I have not really lost much muscle tone either!
I am also eating quite a bit as well & doing exercising.

The ONLY thing I have changed in this period is, as I have stated above, is my Insulin.

I have come off Lantus & Novorapid & gone onto Hypurine Porcine Neutral & Isophane Animal Insulin.
Yes, admittedly, my blood sugars have been higher but I have been advised to do this by my consultant due to another side effect.

Could anyone give me advise to this.
I have done some reading & did recieve an email today stating it could be due to the effects of my previous Insulin, Lantus....excessive water retention????

I will say though, when I went onto Lantus 8 years ago, I did put quite a bit of weight on.... around 2 1/2 stone & was noticed on my face & mid drift area!

I will monitor my weight over the next couple of weeks to see if it stabilises, but if any of you could share any experiences or advise, I would really appreciate it.

Many thanks.

Steve
