Keto is short term. Try whole foods plant based. Many people have had good luck with it. Especially with Autoimmune diseases like t2. Exercise is very important as well. If you don't move the food stays in for longer and stores as fat.eat less move more. Easier said than done I know but we can try at least.Yeah. I must bolus despite low carb, so I don’t get much benefit. Actually, having the carbs and bolusing works better for me. I need the insulin. I don’t go overboard with them, but Keto doesn’t serve me well.
Yes. I've been on it for 3 months & it works! So far I've lost 12kg (c.2 stone) without really trying. You start on a low dose to get used to it for a few weeks, then it gets doubled. The first 1.5 months are a bit rough. I found that if you over do it on the carbs, you do get very bloated towards the evening, and then all the trapped wind has to come out, which makes you quite 'musical'. I'm over that now, watch what I eat & it's great. My insulin sensitivity has increased as well, so I'm injecting a ⅓ less than I used to. On days that I'm not particularly active, I usually only have 1 proper meal a day, and I'm not hungry. Plan is to drop another stone & then get back to doing more exercise & accelerate the process. 100% would recommend.Hello, I would like to ask if anyone with type 1 diabetes has tried the weight loss injection? Also has it worked and is it safe?

Hi iv been on victosa just over a month just gone up to 1.8 but in a month iv lost 1 stone and 3lb. It was hard going at the start with tummy ache but its past. I'm on 3 different insulin and it's the first time in many years iv been in range if u can get over the first few weeks it gets betterHi I have been on victoza 2nd week now at 0.6 , i had couple of days with bad stomach ache then i was ok . Yesterday i upped victoza to 1.2mg had bad gutt ache in the night and pain in both side of lungs, i am obese my diabetic nurse put me on this for 2 reasons. 1 to loose weight, the other to help my pancreas to release more insulin,,,,
I'm a worry wart, altho i want to loose weight it scare me to take victoza as it says it could give you pancreatic cancer and thyroud cancer...
I'm not sure what to do.i am type 2
I'm on 2000mg glucophage once daily . And victoza, my blood sugars ranges are in the 5s and 6.2
Any recommendations

Yes, yes and yes. I’ve been type 1 for 30 years and have struggled to keep the weight off for years. At the tail end of March this year I started Ozempic and have lost just over 1 1/2 stone in that time.Hello, I would like to ask if anyone with type 1 diabetes has tried the weight loss injection? Also has it worked and is it safe?
This is really helpful, thanks ..I can empathise with your situation, I am T1 and find I need a lot of insulin for non-carb intake, I count for protein and carb as eating generally, causes me to spike so I would still take units for a high protein /ultra low carb shake, I also have an issue with weight gain although I am highly active and regular gym user ..I am awaiting an endo appointment to review my weight gain /and hope to have options of support as I feel I have gone from a size M to XL or 10-15kg weight gain in the past year or soFrom my understanding the ozempic may have helped me by stopping my liver from chucking out glucose in a very unhelpful manner. I've lived with brittle diabetes type 1 with type 2 symptoms and insulin resistance and weight gain and having to take insulin even when I've only had a green salad ( this has been dismissed by some as the truth as they don't see why I'd need insulin for a no carb meal but I live with it and Ives no reason to make this up.... an issue past medics have been problematic over. It seems they must have come across diabetics who lie and when the evidence doesn't fit what they have in their text books then the patient must have made it up!)
What ever it's done my blood results are vastly improved and I'm very happy about that
I'm type 2 and I tried them but it was disastrous for me. Started off as sulphurous burping which was very unpleasant but then it actually burnt my throat, all the way from my stomach up my oesophagus into my throat and mouth. Very unpleasant indeed! I stopped it immediately. Never again. Finally this April, resolved to do this. Went to Slimming World in April. Am now weighing 2 1/4 stone less than I did mid April. Thrilled! Their recipe books are totally brilliant - wonderful flavours and tastes I'd simply never imagined before and very little in the way of hunger. I cannot recommend anybody doing those injections. Steel your resolve to do a SW breakfast and SW main course. Treat yourself to coffees or teas and see the weight drop off!Hello, I would like to ask if anyone with type 1 diabetes has tried the weight loss injection? Also has it worked and is it safe?

So true! All my life I have heard "experts" say one thing or another, an constantly dismiss anything i tell them about my condition. What you say, does NOT suprise me, at all, they still know next to nothing about the condition, or, that everyone is different, an reacts differently. From my understanding the ozempic may have helped me by stopping my liver from chucking out glucose in a very unhelpful manner. i have to disagree with a couple of the points you make. Keto is not short term. There are many on this forum who have successfully used keto diet plans for more than a year without problem.Keto is short term. Try whole foods plant based. Many people have had good luck with it. I have not heard of anyone having this injection, but I need to have it asapHello, I would like to ask if anyone with type 1 diabetes has tried the weight loss injection? Also has it worked and is it safe?
I had it, two types of it, with horrendous results - thought I had stomach cancer - sulphurous burping and belching followed by intense burning sensation of oesophagus for several days, intensely sore throat and terrible acid tastes in mouth. I begged doctor to tell me to get my excess weight off by being as rude as he wanted rather than ever prescribe anything like that to me again! You inject this thing into your belly every day and it gives you the worst stomach you've ever had. God no, give me the strictest diet sheet ever and I'll stick to it rigidly. After experiencing these injections I threw out every packet of biscuits lurking in my cupboards, every cake, the butter out of the fridge. Bought fresh fruit & vegs, planted lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, strawberries, raspberries in my garden. Two and a half months on, following SW recipes I've lost two stone 3 lbs. Another one stone 10 lbs to go! No more stomach injections here - hell no!! I thought I had stomach cancer for sure, so sick & sore as the injections made me. Never again!I have not heard of anyone having this injection, but I need to have it asap

I actually agree with you. I have a very bad, unstable ankle which I shattered many years ago and I physically cannot walk far at all (50 metres is too much). Ankle requires extensive surgery and I'm on a never-ending waiting list for surgery to stabilise it. Also bad leg muscle cramping, so little or no exercise possible for me either. I didn't have 60 lbs to lose but I did have 50. 28 lbs of that is gone since mid-April, so exercise is not essential. It would be a nice bonus if it were possible. Hopefully, after surgery (whenever that finally happens, if ever), I might be able to enjoy nice country/beach walks without the incessant pain. The diabetes barely registering anymore is a huge bonus too. Praying the remaining 20 odd pounds comes off before summer ends. In summer it's relatively easy to change eating habits. As winter draws in, I find it much more difficult!Sorry, I have to disagree.
Keto is not short term. I've been eating keto for over three and a half years now and have no plans to stop. I also am not sure you're accurate in describing T2 as an "autoimmune disease" - T1 appears to be, but not T2.
I lost all my >60lbs fat without any exercise, it wasn't at all necessary. I am exercising now, because I enjoy it, but I did precisely none while losing weight.
I’m type 2 and am on semiglutide weight loss tablets, because I have colitis my consultant started me off on a low dose of semiglutide 3mg next month I go up to 7mg and a month after that 14mg then weekly injections. So far a month in I’ve had no problems with nausea or hypos and my blood sugars are in range. I have to send my results blood sugars to my local diabetic clinic along with a good log which is on the continuous glucose monitoring app I use. So far all good il update as I go along. Although type 2 I am overweight considerably and am blind so fingerpricking all the time is difficult so my consultant put me on continuous glucose monitoring libre 2 which once you get used to it is pretty easy to use.Hello, I would like to ask if anyone with type 1 diabetes has tried the weight loss injection? I just got my smart watch set up and am going to start meeting step goals. I have a torn meniscus and ITBS, but am determined to get more active.Keto is short term. Try whole foods plant based.
