My husband who's been type 1 for over 30 years and took the old pork insulin twice a day, started on Lantus and Novarapid back in February this year, since then he has lost almost 2 stone in weight, with out really changing his diet that much, the weight is still coming off, I know most people really want to loose weight, me included, but we are just a bit worried why it is happening and how much more weight he will lose. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm type 1 as well, and am slowly losing weight, but my husband and I are still working on the weight loss problem. I was diagnosed just before xmas last year, and have found that sunflower seeds, almond nuts, and pumpkin seeds seem to slow this problem down, but do not stop it.
I sometimes have a jacket potato of around 165grams, and this seems to help a little. If we actually manage to solve this problem, I will let you know

That is unusual, obvious question really but I am assuming his control is OK as high BS can mean large weight loss if ketones are present. That's the first thing to check. Also is he exercising any more at all?
It could be a symptom of some other condition and nothing to do with Type 1 at all. I must say I am surprised he is still on pig insulin as I thought most animal insulins were phased out pretty much years ago, is there a reason he was on this so long?
