Hello im type 1 for 35 years, have ckd and im currently 110 pounds have trouble gaining weight i was on humilin 70/30 and my sprcialist put me on lantus and apedra my bloods are 5.7 and my creatinine level is 3 im trying to bring it down because it puts me at stage 4 ckd, i recently went vegan and it helped tremendously to come off bp meds but i lost more weight, can anyone personally help me?
 
Have you tried increasing protein/fat consumption?
Has CKD been diagnosed officially and advice given re-diet for this?
 
Hi. My wife has Stage 4 CKD and needs to control her weight the other way. I would suggest increasing fats and proteins. Her consultant said having proteins was not a problem despite rumours to the contrary. Even increasing the carbs might help together with increasing the insulin.
