Weird Bg levels type 2

Had a busy day today so didn't have chance for sit down lunch. Had low fat yoghurt this morning plus cappuccino, then proper dinner tonight (chicken / spinach ) following 30 minutes exercise. Had the odd nibble in the kitchen of some home made sour dough and raspberries but that was it. Bg was 6.9 before dinner and 4.4after 2 hours. Never had that pattern before. Took a blood orange before bed as Bg looked too low. Has my liver been kicking in with some fat burning to release glucose, or is this just one of those things. Wife followed same patterns (non- diabetic).

If all you had all day was a low-fat yoghurt and a cappuchino, it's highly likely that your liver kicked in to help with a shot of glucose.

Also, if you'd nibbled the sourdough/raspberries close to the time you ate, your BGs may have spiked just before your proper meal. How much is a "nibble"?

I like to have Atkins "Daybreak" bars in the house for just such a busy day occasion. I also take them on long journeys. They are portable and easy to eat, though quite expensive. This is not an advert - other similar low-carb snacks must be available!
