Hi,

Just thought i'd share my most recent 'stupid moment' whilst hypo..

I woke up in the middle of the night, realised i was hypo (2.5) i keep a stash of glucose tablets in my drawer.. but STILL i went downstairs to the kitchen..

I have a special glass that holds roughly 200ml, so i poured myself a glass of orange juice, promptly drank it, waited, tested.. still only 3.6 so poured another but only drank half.. tested.. 6.7 ... had a small snack and went back to bed..

Woke up next morning all fine and dandy.. :)

I went to the kitchen for a drink, opened the cupboard... There was my half filled glass of orange juice.

I'd put it back in the cupboard and went to bed.

Anyone else done something weird like that whilst hypo?

:D I dont have to be hypo to do weird things i do them all the time,
like putting my purse in the fridge then wondering why ive got a pint of milk still in my bag from shopping earlier,
frantically looking for my glasses only to be told they are on my head,

Haha!

I'm wondering how heavy your purse is!!

Whilst hypo I once thought that a kitkat would do the trick (yes I know...), opened it, broke it in half and promptly ate one half. Then couldn't find the other half, seached high and low for it, found it in my hand, slightly sticky!! Stupid stupid stupid.

Don't know if this was a hypo or not as I'm not on insulin but do take glic so I can hypo and have (plus I never tested as I wasn't really "there")

I can remember every detail but it was like I was watching someone else do it - I felt really strange sort of "out of my body"

went downstairs in the middle of the night and trying to make a sandwich - - first of all I tried to put peanut butter onto kitchen roll - knew it was wrong but couldn't stop - tried to eat the kitchen roll - managed to tell myself "you can't eat that" and spat it into the bin.

Then I turned my attention to a notebook laying on my hubbys desk - proceeded to spread that with peanut butter - was saying to myself - "you can't eat that either you need bread for a sandwich"

Eventually managed to get some bread and made myself a butty and went back to bed.

hubby was up first next morning and once he knew I was ok he wasn't very happy because the notebook page I had spread the peanut butter on was the page he used to record his daily mileage that he has to send into work - the grease had completely obliterated almost 3 weeks mileage! - Teach him to write it in pencil

I felt fine the next day too!

Hi, best 2 things I have done is, put a soggy wet dishcloth in my handbag and thrown kitchen tissue in sink, only found this out when out in the college! Other thing I have done is attended a podiatry appt with my baby granddaughter in her buggy, put my handbag on a chair , had feet treated then left the building with the baby and NOT the handbag, poor podiatrist was running after me yelling my name carrying the handbag! Hey at least I didnt leave the baby eh. Anna.x

I have no idea why i didnt see this before! i wish i had sooner!

That is terribly amusing i have to say!

It's so strange the things that you do when you are hypo, it's like you brain switches off your common sense to save energy. when thats sometimes what you need to sort the hypo out!!

I've also been hypo around town, nipped into boots to get some glucose tabs, got distracted by other aisles and took me a good 5 mins to remember what i'd been in for, shaking like a leaf
