So. I've been type 2 for about a year...but not bad. Recently had a bout with bronchitis and pneumonia and given some type of steroid for it. I am suddenly VERY thirsty, urinate almost every thirty minutes...and seem to lose weight daily. I read that the steroid can mess with my sugars.... But when I google "increase thirst, frequent urination" I INSTANTLY get "diabetes" results that mention weight loss.
So...here's the downside...
....I took by reading tonight....and my Contour device just reads "HI". Being fairly confident that it was just being friendly and greeting me... I googled why it wouldn't give me a figure and just says "Hi". The results....my sugars are higher than 600.
What am I supposed to do? Call doc and get off steroids??? Or is the over 600 reading a panic enough to go to ER? Never had reading that high.
Sorry for the long first post...just concerned...and don't know if I need to be.
Zaphod... This guy, ya know?
Given the problems l would say eat breakfast early and wash hands with soap well rinse with water and start back at basics. I dont trust these wipes they are impregnated with lots of fun chemicals and given you apparently know full well about breakfast... practice what you preach.
But that is my bad tempered Sunday morning advice after yesterday not following mine and shovelling food into my mouth 3 different times within a short time and spending the balance of the day feeling sick, throwing up and wanting a corner to crawl into. I blame the eggs x 6 one of them must have been off was one lot with bacon one lot with mushrooms one lot with cheese.
l refuse to believe it was cause l wasnt hungry and forced them down me and thereby being my fault.
