Well it would have been nice to have been told!

When I was first diagnosed my GP was wracked with remorse because she had wavered on giving me a fingerprick test about a year before and not done it. A year later it went straight to HI and I went straight to hospital. I will never forget her face, she was so creased up with guilt, poor woman.

But for GPs to actually see blatantly diabetic blood sugar levels in patients and not even tell them - incredible. Shocking.

A good friend of mine was not told that she was showing the early signs of MS. She then spent years searching for increasingly alternate explanations for her weird symptoms.

20 years after that original diagnosis (which had never been passed on to her), she asked for a copy of her notes, and read it in black and white.

Tragic.
How awful. Did she sue! Things like this make you so angry!

Glad you're ok now! I did feel fairly p***d off! I will admit! The look on the docs face said it all. Definitely be asking for him in the future!

I encouraged her to sue, but she felt so awful, and the medical staff who had not given her the diagnosis had all left, retired or disappeared.

She only lived 3 years after that, and I wonder how the whole situation affected her life expectancy. Impotent rage is a poisonous thing.
