Hello again, needing some new help from you experts.
I joined the forum early last year, took advice, low carbed, kept meal diary, lost 19kg by September, HBA1C down to 5.9, then my world fell in with several major stress´s which are just settling now, :? diet everything went out the window. But, today my OH has been diagnosed type 2 too, at 11.8 much higher than my original readings, and CH high at 6.5. Obviously we are going to tread the right path from now on, but whilst my CH readings are better than his, should we also go low fat as well. We have so enjoyed butter and cheese, it would be very hard to give them up. But, if you think it would be wiser.....?

Hello gardenfairy

Poor you, what a shock that both of you have a T2 diagnosis now!

One consolation is that it makes things less complicated on the catering front – it is rare that something awful doesn’t have at least a little silver lining. :D

As a newbie I am no expert but from all that I have read I don’t think that you have to cut down on the fat if your body will tolerate it and of course it would depend on any other health issues that you may have. The main thing I have learnt is ‘try and test at all times’. I expect someone who knows what is what will be along soon. :)

Hope all goes well for you both now and that you are over the stressful traumas you have been going through. :)
