hi, tomorrow I go for a GTT test and am concerned. I wake with higher than normal range of around 6.5. It then reduces and is quite normal during the day. It increases during the night from around 2.30am. Am I diabetics? Is it normal for spiking in the night, and if so by how much? I’ve not been diagnosed... but it’s in my family.

We cannot possibly diagnose you. Only your doctor can do that after the relevant tests. All I can say is welcome to the forum, and let us know how you go on tomorrow. :)

Hi. Readings taken early in the morning are unreliable due to the liver dumping glucose overnight (Dawn Phenomenon). So readings taken around 2 hours after a meal are a better guide. The HBA1c test the GP can do is the right way to diagnose.
