ty @Molly56

We did get a dress, and a veil, and a underskirt and a box to store it all in. Came to half the price of the other dress she had set her heart on. She tried on something similar to the dress she liked but decided it made her look 'too childlike', whereas the dress she has chosen makes her feel like a bride. So no only head piece (for when the veil comes off), shoes and undies and her outfit is complete. I think she was overwhelmed by her own reaction and mine. I've asked if she has buyers remorse this morning and the answer is no so all good there.

If I new how to transfer the half complete photo from my phone to here I'd show you.

As for second marriages - that's where I'm at. I was married to my daughters' father but that broke down and I'm now married to a man called Ian. (He's been married before and has 2 sons). We decided on something low key too and did a lot of the stuff for the wedding ourselves like invites, placecards, banners. We did splash out on a few things but our wedding day wasnt what we hoped with warring families and other things. Would I do it again? Oh gosh no. We hit our 10 year anniversary n 2016 and we were going to renew our vows and have a party but decided again against it due to certain family members.

I like wedding cake but I can now buy a plain iced fruit cake in Tesco so if I feel like my mind is wandering towards wedding cake I'll go buy one of those :p
@wolfie11969 ....good to hear that you have made some progress with your daughters dress....at least that is one item you can tick off the to do list....
...have been busy this afternoon with my beading and think I have managed to create something I can wear in my hair...did try to add you in to a private message to share with you but for some reason it won’t let me pm you...could be something to do with your settings...
....funnily enough my first husband was called Ian.....would be really spooky if you told me your first husband was called Clive....:D

Funny you should mention pirates today.....was just checking out the candidates standing for local election in the London borough where my son lives only to find that there is a candidate standing from the Pirate Party Uk....:D

....I don't usually take an interest in local politics but have a reason for doing this time round as my youngest son actually appears on the ballot paper to stand for local councillor.....hence my checking the above..

...think that this time round it is more about having candidates on the paper that people can vote for if they wish to vote in a particular way or are unhappy with the current sitting councillors / other options available but full credit to him for wanting to volunteer.....is not a position I would ever want to be in or a job that I could do but am very proud of him for doing so....:)

....will be checking back on the results website later to see how many votes he got.....hopefully more than the pirate....:jimlad:
