What diabetes medicine are you currently taking?

2,000 mg Metformin a day and LCHF.
Diagnosed over 13 years now and control getting slowly worse each year.
Last two HbA1c were 7.3% and 7% (six months apart).
I classify as a slim T2 although I was over weight just prior to diagnosis.

1 x 500mg metformin a day since I was diagnosed in September. I stuck to around 100g of carbs a day with occasional treat. I do eat carbs still just a lot less of them. My recent hba1c was 37. My bmi is now in the normal range and I test at least 7 times a day. I haven't seen a high reading in awhile now. Hopefully it continues.

I was diagnosed T2 in 2014 and put on metformin, Hb1Ac went down but still too high. In 2019 GP wanted to put me on Gliclazide, but I decided to lose weight. I had heard about the Newcastle diet, but did not see how to do this. However Michael Mosley's 5+2 diet with 2 days with 600 calories looked promising. So I went on 5+2, learned how to do this while frequently travelling. I lost 10 kg and got my Hb1Ac as low as 42. Since Dec 2019 I am not taking any medication. At that time I joined this forum and learned that it was the reduction of carbs that reduced my Hb1Ac. I am still doing 5+2 because it works for me.
