Raw tomatoes and arrogant people.
Well, i tried some of Sainsburys gluten free sausages. Wondered what i could have with them, had a savoy cabbage and grilled mushrooms so i decided that would do but i woz wrong. Also thought that some Anthony Wogga Thompsons gluten free gravy would be ok but i woz also wrong. Hell, i was really fracking wrong and maybe i should have added some herbs or spices or chillis and HP sauce as my meal tonight i considered to be one of the worst i have yet produced. Ime pretty good with food but now feel that this low carb diet is really getting me down. Food is getting so really boring but as i have to work and look after my mum experimenting and cooking real tasty grub is hard for me. Any ideas?

I wasn't too impressed with the taste of most gluten free sausages until I found that most of the sausages in Marks and Spencer are gluten free. They have some nice pork and leek ones, they have a high meat content so are not too bad on the carbs.

Here's how to make sausages more interesting.
Fry them to get a bit of colour. Crumble over an oxo cube and pour over some water. Add to that a teaspoon of tomato puree and s&p. Leave it on the hob to simmer away until the gravy has turned thick and the sausages are cooked. If you eat onions, fry some sliced onion when you fry the sausages. Obviously this is just a basic recipe so add to it whatever herbs and spices you want.

When it comes to savoy, I like mine finely shredded and fried in a bit of butter and olive oil.

I also eat a lot of cauli rice as it tastes wonderful and is spot-on for soaking up gravy.

Oxo cubes contain wheat flour  I've yet to find a suitable replacement ...

The Sausage shop in Tun Wells has some really nice gluten free sossies, basically they are just meat n herbs n spices etc but its difficult to get in to the shop on a regular basis as parking is so bad in TW. They are getting pricey too these days, then what isnt.
I too have considered OXO but wont use them because of the wheat. Just have to chivvy up the sausages with the good old HP in future.

I would not have thought that 2.2g of carbs would be a too much of problem especially if you are sharing the stock/gravy :D Or are you wheat intolerant?
