Was having high blood sugar readings so dr oreded some tests. I had hbac1 anf fasting blood test. They have both come back normal. Does this mean i do not have diabetes ?? Thank you x

What did your Doctor say. We can definitely say it hasn't allowed the doctor to diagnose but without other information we cannot say you haven't . Please discuss the results with your doctor.

How do you know you had high readings? What were they and what had you eaten? We may be able to offer you some questions to ask your doctor.

Hi thanks for the reply. My gp is useless to be honest. I rang up this morning for the results and the receptionist said it was all normal. I kept havin readings of 9.7. Basiclly i live off milkshake and soup and toast as i have anxiety wich has caused eating problems.i also have glucose in my urine the odd time on urine dipsticks. My friend has checked me with a meter at home. But ive also had normal readings of 4.7 etc.

And just to add.. im 23 year old female and weigh 6 stone 10. Dont no if that helps. Thank you

9.7 mmol/l isnt necessarily outside of normal. Your small frame is just more likely to allow food to push your BG levels higher. I still think you need to discuss this with your doctor. But unless you are having other symptoms I expect your doctor will be happy. There is a magic level of about 11.5 that they reckon a person with diabetes will not go above. Read it in some paper but can't remember where/when

I wouldn't worry just talk to your Dr and live your life happily and healthily.
