Thanks everyone. Think I'm deffo guna invest in one of these electronics devices that record your every jab! @Jaylee no I don't log stuff. I have an accu check aviva expert bg meter - which records insulin doses (but only if u enter them in). And it advises how many units to do (which is programmed to each individual). I like the machine, but I don't think I use it to the maximum that I could.
I have done it previously, and used the sniff test lol to see if I can smell the insulin on me to work out if I have done it!
I think yesterday I must have doubled dosed. As I had a terrible hypo in the night. I think I mentioned I am struggling at the min with erratic BG readings. But it has only been since I started on a tablet. So I can only assume it's them causing it. (And it does say in the side effects it can affect blood sugar control.
I think I may ask the doc if I can change, as I'm not liking the erratic changes. Up and down.
I am seeing my DN in just over a week, so she may be able to offer some advice too. I changed my back ground insulin and upped it by 2 units in the morning and 1 unit at night (I was getting a readings that went from 6/7 to 18 per bed time after hardly any carbs. Then was getting rapid drops and going in to hypos at around 5 am. So at the minute I can't win. And I'm gutted as my HBA1c had come down a lot. So I think it might have crept back up now! Waaaahhhhh
Has anyone else suffered with these erratic highs and lows?
