Omg, I remember going to a Tufty club when I was a young kidI keep reminiscing about the 1970's as a teenager, but today when at my dad's, this came flooding back and I loved him so much back in the 1960's and I had the badge,

I totally agree, there is so much rubbish on tv, and repeat s. I get so cross when it's time to pay the tv licence,

I was with the GPO when I left school at 15, "International services, continental calls, how may I help you?" What a mouthful!
I hated the strictness, the awful supervisors, timed when you went to the loo and punished if you took too long, punished for being more than 4 minutes late in the morning, I lasted 8 months and walked out one lunchtime and never went back! Met my first husband there though, he was an engineer.
We dumped that disgraceful licence back in the 60s
What do you guys pay?
Evening Robin
I reckon it's punitive beyond belief .... and even I knew as a young boy that it was just wrong to penalise people for watching free to air TV.
The resentment back in those days from the bunch of convicts living here was just enormous
Evening Mike, I think it costs £129 or £149 in one hit, I think noblehead was shocked at the one off price, whereas you can pay in instalments, which I meant to do, but I got a little sidetracked at the end of the summer and everything went, well, out of the window
Sheesh ..... $300 AUD ? That is outrageous RRB .....
Do you remember the Tufty road safety club @NicolaB70Omg, I remember going to a Tufty club when I was a young kid
We get it in all the chemists over here. Or you could get it o Ebay if you want someWhere did you manage to find it? I thought it went out of production years ago. Going to the dance on a Saturday night you were the bees knees if you had 711 on

Viz still has "The Parkie", who is fairly intimidating. There's an example of his exploits here. (Parental advisory: quite a lot of very rude language and not suitable for work unless your employer is quite tolerant of people ******, blinding and yelling a word beginning with the letter "c").I've just remembered our woods had a park as well, with swimming pool, tennis coursts and a putting green looked after by the park keeper or 'parky' and his word was the law! We were all scared of him and would run a mile if we saw him coming anywhere near in case we'd done something wrong - can't imagine kids being so frightened of him nowadays!
