Looks like pasta causes a late rise with her then! No hypo last night though which is good

How much bolus insulin did she have for her pasta? You could try splitting her bolus, giving a little immediately and the rest a while later (Youd have to experiment to find the best time). That may help.

I can't remember what I did when I was on injections as it was years ago but I know I split my bolus and it covered the pasta ok. I tested frequently after eating to see when the rise started, then timed the second part of my split bolus to deal with that.

It was one unit so it would be possible to split it, will try that next time!

Don't know if I should ring DSN to try split basal dose tonight or wait until our appointment with the team on Friday

If in doubt, check with the DSN - always the rule

Oh yes of course! I meant I don't know if I should get it changed today or leave things as they are until Friday :)

I can only say what I'd do, but if it was me and I was sure it was safe, I'd give it till Friday just to be sure and get the most information. As a compromise, perhaps you could give it a day or two longer if you feel Friday is a long wait.

Hard call.

I don't feel she's in any danger, I check her way too often for that to be the case, it just makes me uncomfortable her being high when I know we could probably tweak it and get her lower. ..

The thing is also if the team give us the CGM on Friday I'll have to give her bread etc so they can see the problems were having, so I don't want to get the readings perfect only for it to be messed up by that!

One more day with a different dinner at least I think, so I can see the difference between the pasta...

Rambling now, thinking out loud lol

I don't think there's any 'right' answer. My only thought was that I like to be sure, so I'd want to get to a point where I was positive the information I had showed that X, Y and Z were happening.

It's frustrating to have to try things, I know, so I try to approach it in a scientific and logical manner as that helps me be more detached and not get annoyed or frustrated.
