I can’t remember dialling the amount of units after priming my pen and I didn’t want to take more insulin!
I’m using a NovoRapid FlexPen.If you are using a NovoPen Echo (reusable insulin pen for insulins by NovoNordisk), the LCD "Memory function" on the end of pen will tell you how much you took. If this is less than you need, you can top up to the total amount.
If you do not have one of these pens, or you took too much, the best thing to do is to wait and see what happens to your BG.
As you are on fixed doses, I assume you have not been told about correction doses, yet.

They also deliver half units which is very useful for corrections and if you are sensitive to insulin.
NovoPen Echo are pretty common so do not be afraid to request them.

Have you mentioned this to your hospital diabetes team? I think they would support you in using Novorapid and Novo pens.I was using a Novo pen with Novo rapid insulin for years but last year I was told by my surgery that for cost cutting reasons at the NHS I would have to start using trurapi insulin with a Solostar pen which doesn't have the memory feature , a feature I have needed on a couple of occasions recently .
No I have not mentioned it to my diabetic team , if it becomes a problem for me ,getting older forgetting things as we do I will ask if I could go back to the Novo pen , I'me all for saving the NHS a bit of money and very grateful they are there for me .Have you mentioned this to your hospital diabetes team? I have had similar experience with my GP surgery, with their own dispensing facility, changing some non-diabetes medication for a cheaper one. But when I has requested to be changed back, they have done so.
