What has happened to my eyes????

I used to have difficulties seeing clearly in the distance but could see things close to me fine. Since being diagnosed as a type 2 something weird has happened and my vision in the distance has improved whilst reading things close to me (say up to 10 inches from eye) is pretty much impossible?

It is like a reversal of sorts. WTH??

My glasses now makes things blurred?

Is this normal?

I had similar problems a week after being diagnosed with Type 2 and taking Metformin.

My eyesight went back to the point where I couldn't drive, as I couldn't see properly with or without my glasses. Got tested and my right eye had gone from 2.5 shortsighted to 0.75 longsighted!!!

As it had only been a week I was advised to get a cheap pair as my eyes may change again.

Sure enough, the following week I had 2 days where I couldn't wear my glasses as everything was blurred. Still very shortsighted with my left eye, but overall better with no glasses.

Then back to wearing the glasses again.

It would seem that if I eat something high in sugar, like a Muller Light Youghurt, then my eyesight goes funny.

Lesson learned - stay off the sugar

It isn't just sugar! Get yourself a Collins gem Carb Counter and you will be surprised where the carbs are hiding!

Just to confirm what Dal1970 said.

I was diagnosed recently and became very short-sighted at first. It was so bad as I was not able to read newspapers or my computer screen at work. I went and spent £200 on a good pair of glasses and frames only for my sight to come back to almost as it was before. I now have an expensive pair of glasses that I no longer need. I am sure that they are mocking me! :D

I don't know what to make of it. Apart from reading stuff under my nose, my eyesight seems to have improved.....plus my metabolism is working faster than when I was a teenager!

If it wasn't for the fact this condition is probably slowing killing me I'd be like yey!!!

Skin is getting a bit dry though.

lol

When you get your BG levels under control your eyesight does get better and keeping control may mean you are much healthier for longer. 8)

Dry skin loves to drink lots of lotions! E45 is a reasonable price and acceptable to both males and females. :)
