Our car had broken down @sueh21, so accepted a lift from friends and, thanks to a cloudburst and heavy traffic, we were on the road for twice as long as planned, but we survived. Worse things can happen!Hope everyone has survived the horrendous rain and flooding.
So you've had to postpone your holiday in Italy? @shelley262. That's rotten luck.Just a quick note to say that I am thinking of you all - reading when I can and enjoying all of your news. Life is just a bit busy atm. Should be on holiday with husband in Italy this week but had to do last minute cancellation. I'm fine but have family health issues that I'm sure will be sorted soon. Husband has skin cancer removal operation due on Sunday. Looking forward to getting back to normal selves and 're booking our next holiday!
That’s good, hope the breakdown is not too serious. Our car had broken down @sueh21, so accepted a lift from friends and, thanks to a cloudburst and heavy traffic, we were on the road for twice as long as planned, but we survived. Worse things can happen!
Likewise @RosemaryJackson. Hope you continue to make a steady recovery.@RosemaryJackson sorry to read elsewhere you've been poorly again.
Nice to have you back xx
It's the power steering that's gone @sueh21. The car passed its MOT earlier this month, but the garage does not feel qualified to help with this latest development. A specialised mechanic is coming over to inspect the vehicle. That’s good, hope the breakdown is not too serious.
Sorry to disappoint, Rosemary. It's a commercial product and not really rice at all. It's really a kind of tiny pasta made with chickpea flour. Not rice, but pretty good as part of a savoury dish and lower in carbs than rice. I'm thinking of trying to make pasta with chickpea flour myself. Watch this space.Thank you @LivingLightly, I feel much better. Thanks Ann, getting back to normality. I had a bad bout of Bronchitis and to make matters worse had a nasty migraine which floored me. Must ask, how do you make chickpea rice?
A gamble, but fingers crossed Banksie settles down well in his new home @Annb.Banksie has gone to his new home in Elgin. Em and her mum went on the very early morning freight ferry and will have an overnight stay in Inverness before heading home tomorrow. Hugo is reported to already be behaving better now that he is on his own (Ruler of the Roost). We can only hope that Banksie does well in his new home.
That's fortunate @sueh21. All builds look better bathed in sunlight. Have fun!Lovely sunshine at the moment here. Off to a second house viewing with our daughter, getting ready to buy their first house so that will be fun.
Getting old is no fun whatsoever!
Agreed @RosemaryJackson and @Annb. Retirement is great if you have your health, but once the body's components start to wear out. life feels like one long round of medical outpatient appointments!.... and you're right, getting old isn't a whole lot of fun - especially when your brain tells you you are about 26. Doesn't compute though - Neil is coming up to 58 and Alistair 56. Couldn't have had them when I was minus 22 and minus 20!
Yes,was a lovely day, fun looking at houses,it’s 24yrs since we last moved so it was interesting. They still liked the house on second viewing so will put an offer in.That's fortunate @sueh21. All builds look better bathed in sunlight. Have fun!
