Pleased you like the food at Dishoom I love it it's my favourite restaurant and fairly easy to choose low carb - there is a great grilled section and lots of veggie sides and delicious raita.Day trip to London today
B: 2 scrambled eggs
L: spicy chicken, a whole one between 2 of us! At Dishroom, was it @shelley262 who recommended this chain? Loved it. Lots of Christmas party groups in gave it a nice vibrant atmosphere. Hubby also had a veg dish of sweet potato and pineapple and chillis and a naan.
I drank mint tea.
D: cheese with cucumber sticks and olives.
Been stuck with a bad headache most of the day, blaming all the lights and noise. Was an interesting day but happy to be back home in my nice quiet village.
Yes it was good for low carb. Shame they are all so far away.Pleased you like the food at Dishoom I love it it's my favourite restaurant and fairly easy to choose low carb - there is a great grilled section and lots of veggie sides and delicious raita.
Sorry to hear about your headache though hope it resolves soon.
I'm very much online, but online with the local shops at the Fort. I've mentioned in another post that it gets horrendously busy, so the colkect makes it so much easier. The trick is to collect very early morning (I get there for 8.45 once I deposit the boys at school) or later at night (after 7pm). Then you can get around and parked to pick up the various parcels.Glad you've been having good social times and tasty food @Antje77
I had some weird stomach thing Tuesday so fasted until Wednesday afternoon. Then 2 scrambled eggs and later a bowl of hm lc veg soup. The evening was a meeting where mulled wine and mince pies were served. I ignored the latter but did have a little wine. It wasn't as sweet as some mulled ones are.
Thursday (today)
B: 3 scrambled eggs with ham (appetite's back yay!)
Double dancing
L: was a chunk of brie and a handful of almonds while Christmas shopping. Didn't buy anything but all the clothes shops were offering 25 or 30% off everything so very tempted.
Came home and placed £200 of online orders, mainly clothes for me rather than presents for others, whoops!
D: a bowl of veg soup with ham in. A pot of lemon/lime yoghurt jelly.
Well done on getting your own way with the energy company. Very determined lady you are. Also very well organised with all you have to do and getting your shopping organised as well. Hugs for Hubby not feeling well and for you having to work around it. Here's hoping he's better soon.Sunday
B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with egg mayo. Benecol dairy free.
L. Nothing. Got grandson to his swimming, but we left early to go as my legs are still causing me issues. @MrsA2 - I drink pints of water. I'm afraid my issue is my screwed up nervous system thanks to my accident years ago. It's the same if I get an infection, it attacks the nervous system.
D. Campari and soda. Rib roast, cobette, green beans, GF Yorkshire pudding, 1/2 a roast potato, and horseradish.
Managed to fit in some Christmas shopping. Online and a trip to the Fort later in the week to collect them. Very early morning as it gets very busy later.
Monday
Boys went under care of Mum & Dad. Hubby had picked up a bug and I didn't want it spreading. Regrettably, hubby's ill health rather stopped me getting on with other things!
B. TAG and a ham and mustard sandwich on SRSLY bread. Benecol dairy free.
L. Nothing - did manage more shopping online at the Fort for later collection.
D. More of yesterday's roast beef etc - no roast potato, but everything else. DGF crimbo crumble with a few raspberries and a dash of cream.
I had one success today. I'd sent a very firm email to my energy company, who once again had increased my direct debit without consent. I've been through this before with them and had made it clear they were not to do it. I build a credit balance to cover the increased payments over 4 months that the bills are higher. I gave them an ultimatum - change the direct debit back, confirm they'd done so, and don't do it again! If they didn't I was leaving them. Bearing in mind I never owe them money I knew I had some bargaining power. They actually called to give me the usual script, but I stopped them short, repeated my requirements, and to my amazement the reduced the direct debit! I think they got I wasn't joking. Success at last!
Brilliant gift for your cleaner. From what you have said of her in the past, I guess she has the same kind of sense of humour as you. Ingenious wrapping too. Your poor little dog isn't very big anyway but is positively dwarfed by the creature. wonder what he is thinking. Happy Sinterklaas.Busy times here with Sinterklaas coming up, still trying to get the perfect date through that dating site which isn't working that well so far, and all my doubts on work or education.
On that last bit, things have gotten clearer since yesterday. I missed the open day of the education I was considering due to snow a while back, not worth risking my life on the road. Took a long time to get to speak to someone instead. But yesterday I joined a quite horrible workshop on networking, and one of the other participants had been to the open day for exactly the education I was considering (social work). So I approached her during the break and she very clearly explained why it was very unlikely for either of us to find work in that field after two years of school.
Today I finally got that call from someone in the school and shared what I heard, and he agreed. So exit education for now, I'll see about work instead. But only after the weekend, I'm allowed to breathe first!
I may or may not have a date tomorrow. Very intense contact through whatsapp for a couple of days, but when it became clear I was serious in wanting to meet and not just talking in the heat of the conversation (which admittedly was rather heated) he started to have some panicky moments.
By now I'm quite sure he's way more in need of someone to hold and hug him, and tell him he's good as he is no matter the dirty tricks his brain plays on him, rather than in need of a date with a possible sexual component.
Fine with me, no schooling needed to be a social worker in your free time.
But I do hope it's not a pattern in my dating adventures. I don't mind, especially not if I like someone, but I already had the slightly psychotic one and I have a feeling that this one has some serious mental issues as well with his sudden fears and switching moods.
Oh well, we'll see. Either he'll come over or he won't, he's very conscious of not hurting my feelings, if he comes he can get a good hug and some talking if he wants to.
Proper food has gotten on the back burner for days, working on Sinterklaas surprises and poems, worrying about having to make a quick decision on this education, and chatting with this possible date.
Good thing I like bacon and eggs, or pan fried toasties!
Still, all low carb, and I will do some more serious cooking soon. I think.
My cleaner should have been coming on thursday, the 5th, which is Sinterklaas. She started nagging me on expecting a surprise* and a poem weeks ago.
Her surname is Zwaan (which means swan), and she refers to it occasionally, it's clear that she loves her name.
A couple of weeks ago in the pool they were inflating play things for the childrens aqua disco later on. The pool employee, knowing I always try to get my hands on the playing stuff after our aqua lesson threw me a huge swan to play with.
It had a leak so I told her, and she was going to throw it away.
So now I'm the proud owner of a huge swan with a mostly repaired leak!
I wrote a pretty good poem to go with it, hung a chocolate lette Z for Zwaan around it's neck, and used 6 full rolls of Sinterklaas themed wrapping paper to wrap it.
And then I sent my cleaner a completely heartless message to let her know how convenient it is she comes on the 4th instead, saving me from having to write a poem. But I do have a spare chocolate letter J and could she use it, considering her husband is named Jan?
I'm evil, and very much looking forward to tomorrow!
Also having trouble getting around in my own house now, my living room isn't that big and the swan is very large!

*surprise: [surpreesuh]. Look it up on the Google, it's a Dutch Sinterklaas tradition.
Gave you a winner but also had a chuckle at the thought of you asking your grandog not to peep when he tried on his Christmas jacket. The leather jacket sounds amazing - admire your crafting skills and would love to see how he looks in the finished jacket.Woke up to look outside and see that I’m inside a cloud. Looks very miserable out.
Breakfast will be marmite and scrambled egg on a previously frozen radish fritter
Lunch some very underwhelming cheddar, pickled red cabbage and planned over salty, parmesan and truffle oil chicken wings…very tasty.
Dinner, …salmon fishcakes ( I make nine at a time and freeze them), with kale Caesar. The kale is still going strong in the garden, thankfully.
Other than an after lunch walk to pick up our little granddog I’ll be working on a little leather jacket for his Christmas pressie. I’ve ordered a Harley patch for it but our postal service is on strike so little hope it’ll arrive in time to go under the tree. I’ve tried it on him, for fit, but aren’t convinced he did as requested and kept his eyes closed!
I will aim for a Christmas Day pictureGave you a winner but also had a chuckle at the thought of you asking your grandog not to peep when he tried on his Christmas jacket. The leather jacket sounds amazing - admire your crafting skills and would love to see how he looks in the finished jacket.
