Maybe it's the coffee. I have been drinking more coffee than tea recently - it's easier then making a pot of tea with loose leaves (to avoid the spike I get when using tea bags). At first I was pretty sure that using coffee with caffeine wasn't affecting my BG as much as decaffeinated coffee but having just seen a thread about someone finding that coffee causes some change in BG levels, I wonder if that is the issue with me. OK - next experiment - no coffee, just tea to drink (or tap water, if I can't be bothered to make a pot of tea) and I'll see what happens. No - not that. I only have black socks because that's all I can get to go over the huge bandages on my legs and feet. Maybe beginning to get used to less Metformin. Or maybe not.
Sometimes BG behaves in such a way that you really start to think that the reason is the color of the socksDifferent colour socks?
I always carry a wee box of mixed nuts in my bag so when out and about if a snack is needed I always have something to nibble on and nobody bats an eyelid.Just back from a quiz. Ate way too many crisps. The bowls just kept getting refilled so I carried on eating, and eating and eating.
The actual food was sandwiches which I'd been prewarned about so I took cheese and a greek salad. However I was too full of crisps to really enjoy it.
Walked home but still feeling bloated and over full.
Going to another tomorrow. Tips please on how not to keep reaching out for salty snacks
Still around but it’s veggie planting time so busy with the garden as it’s also weed growth spurt time! Also played pickleball for a couple of hours. A good Victoria Day weekend so far.Very quiet on here! Are you all away?
Today
B: 75g weight of corned beef
Early yoga
Cwc
L: stilton
Quick trip to local product fair. Small piece new cheese from local farm, very expensive 85% chocolate, pack of snacking dried ginger with chilli, 2 cheese scones for hubby and a birthday card. That was £20 gone !
D: cooked chicken made into a curry with broccoli, courgette and yoghurt. Small coffee ice cream.
Trying to wean myself off my ice cream habit so topped 1 very small scoop with chopped nuts and 85% chocolate. Very satisfying and lower carb than usual portion.
Then an unexpected dash to try sort a problem with a mentally ill relative. At least it didn't take long. The Eurovision songs sounded better on the radio than watching on the TV!
Busy and exhausting day yesterday so no energy even to post on here. Brain's a bit cobwebby as well. But you're right, this thread has been fairly quiet for some time now. Summer time is busy for everyone, I guess.Very quiet on here! Are you all away?
