Glad you've been having good social times and tasty food @Antje77

I had some weird stomach thing Tuesday so fasted until Wednesday afternoon. Then 2 scrambled eggs and later a bowl of hm lc veg soup. The evening was a meeting where mulled wine and mince pies were served. I ignored the latter but did have a little wine. It wasn't as sweet as some mulled ones are.

Thursday (today)
B: 3 scrambled eggs with ham (appetite's back yay!)
Double dancing
L: was a chunk of brie and a handful of almonds while Christmas shopping. Didn't buy anything but all the clothes shops were offering 25 or 30% off everything so very tempted.
Came home and placed £200 of online orders, mainly clothes for me rather than presents for others, whoops!
D: a bowl of veg soup with ham in. A pot of lemon/lime yoghurt jelly.

2nd meal yesterday was some chickpea "rice" with some onion and some reheated sausage. V tasty.

Breakfast today. Now there's a question. Must do something soon because my cleaner is coming this morning (instead of Wednesday) and I want to have things cleared away before she comes.

Took a slightly larger basal dose this morning. I've been on the dose that my diabetes nurse asked me to drop down to but that seems to have led to higher BG and higher bolus doses. So I'm going back to my previous dose. Medical consultant yesterday said he had advised almost 2 years ago that I should be put onto Ozempic but my GP didn't reply to him and didn't mention it to me. He's going to ask them again but I don't think I want to take it - SIL has been trying it. It certainly reduces her appetite and makes her lose weight but she feels permanently sick. Besides, I have heard some discussion about its safety and wonder about interaction with all the other pills I take.

EDIT: Breakfast was one more cold sausage and a cup of coffee. BG still went pretty high (11.3) but it has dropped back to 9.3 now. Might take a while for the Tresiba to do anything about the higher levels.

Currently making a chicken and Mediterranean veg stew for later.

Wednesday

Boys were here for dinner, and had requested I make bolognese.

B. TAG, Benecol Dairy Free, and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with chicken mayo.

L. Nothing

D. I had bolognese as did everyone else. 2 straightforward spaghetti, 1 gluten free, and 1 low carb pasta for me. DGF crimbo crumble with a dash of cream.

Thursday

B. TAG, Benecol Dairy Free, and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with egg mayo.

L. Bit of crustless quiche.

D. Peppered chicken with green beans. Crimbo crumble and dash of cream.

That's a fabulous costume Em was wearing @Annb . My niece has still been going back and forward to the islands but that was her last trip last week. Two ferries to get there and having to return early before the weather set in was enough to convince her. She loves Uist & Barra though. View attachment 70791

A bit of a yo-yo with the BG but it seems to have settled in the 4's now. Might have taken too much Humalog to deal with the sausage and coffee. No problem though - the sensor picked it up before it went too low.

A big pot of lamb bits and pieces in the oven with some veg and some prunes - that's for tomorrow. And for the freezer,

Chicken soup/stew for breakfast.
Mixed lamb bits and pieces with some vegetables in a hot-pot - no potatoes.

Not much else happening here today. Slept much of it after a very short night. Other than sleep, I've been doing a lot of family history research. Very fruitful session today - all the way back to Visigoths in the 500's.

Wow! How did you get back so far?
If you can get a link into a big pedigree, it's not too hard. These big families kept records from way back and historians did a fair bit of research into individuals in those lines. All available on the internet. Still have to be a bit careful because mistakes can be made. I get back as far as I can, and then check it as far as possible from other sites on the internet. Got back even further by bedtime yesterday so a lot of checking to do.

Friday

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ham and mustard. Benecol dairy free.

L. Nothing - I was away for my final winter vaccination. I was feeling a bit "off" but got it done and out of the way.

D. Chicken wings with alioli. DGF crimbo crumble with a sash of cream.

Saturday

B. TAG - hairdresser was coming early for a badly needed haircut.

L. Nothing. Went straight out shopping (or rather dragged myself out). I suspect yesterday's jab has left me with badly aching arms & legs. Supermarket was kind enough to assist me. I was exhausted when I got home.

D. Very early on I had a ham sandwich with mustard on SRSLY bread and a pint of water. I was starting to feel queasy and decided I needed something. Later, I had more ham and 2 poached eggs. Later again, a DGF crimbo crumble while watching Strictly.

I'm having to take paracetamol to keep my legs mobile. Isn't the weather weird? Last Saturday it was snow, ice and negative temperatures. Today it was 14°C!!

Apart from my legs and arms, yes. It will pass. I'm sure it's the vaccination working its usual "magic,"
This year I upped my water and fluids the day before and had 2 extra drinks both before and after the actual jabs. The extra hydration seemed to work, no sore arms or other side effect,
Might be worth trying next time.?

B: a bit of cheese grabbed before going shopping when I realised there would be temptation out there!
A successful shop, shoes and a top for me, jumper and hat for hubby
L: 2 hard boiled eggs and a small slice panettone
Afternoon lc baking, chocolate cake and cinnamon cake. Most now safely frozen in small squares. Some went to "quality control".
D: venison grill steak with buttered leeks and cabbage. A glass wine. Later a square cinnamon cake

Scrambled eggs for breakfast
2nd meal will be a beef ragout made with braising steak (chunks rather than mince) and cooked low and slow. Might add some chickpea pasta.
Didn't bother. Busy trying to get a pile of non-dishwasher proof pans and dishes washed and dried, sleeping and family-historying so didn't make the ragout. Just had a small salad with some ham instead.
