Day started well...
Walked a friends dog for an hour then tried to keep her calm until owner returned as dog has severe separation anxiety. She was good on the walk though, and it was sunny.

Popped into library and a couple of other errands. Arrived home to find hubby in the garden turning the compost heap.

Headed inside to grab lunch, had one egg and some ham when hubby arrived with a seriously cut finger. Did first aid but decided to head to minor injuries unit as was right across a joint and deep and dirty (he has previously for similar injuries, they are known as "get out of jobs itis")
Experience sent me with a flask of tea and a nut bar

2.5 hours later heading home but had to turn back as I'd left something at the Unit. Doing a u turn someone stepped of the pavement behind me and accused me of running over their chihuahua!! Luckily I have rear dash cam and it proved he was on his phone and not looking and walked into me!

Luckily at 5pm I had booked a 30 minute guided meditation session - boy did I need it!

D: 3 90 % sausages with carrot and cauliflower. Small ice cream. Later a coffee rum.

And it was supposed to be an easy quiet day!

But I'm very curious to hear if millet affects your bg just like flour would, it only has slightly less carbs.
Never tried millet. Except maybe there's whole seeds sometimes in a packet of mixed seed? Uk I think its mainly bird food but know its used in Africa/Caribbean as a staple, perhaps.
So we will need to know from you ASAP tomorrow evening, how was millet and who killed who?

I can't promise to check in tomorrow evening, if it turns out there isn't any killing to be done we may be too busy doing more enjoyable things than social media.
Like trying to correct the effect of a millet soufflé and a mis-guessed insulin dose on my BG. :angelic:

If we still like eachother by the time we'll start cooking I'll spend the night because I expect I won't be allowed to drive after anymore. Doesn't do to spend time on a forum on your phone during a date, so hopefully you'll have to wait until thursday for your update.

How do you even have all those adventures???
What a mess in between a good start and end of the day!
Why would someone even tell you you killed their dog? What a horrible thing to do, I think I would have a complete meltdown if this happened to me, and I'd likely have to call someone to pick me up because of the few seconds between believing I killed a dog and finding out someone was just being an *******.

Breakfast: RyVita and Tartex. Couldn't be bothered with anything else.

2nd meal will be some more of the veg stew out of the freezer (turns out to have lots of beans in it) with a few sausage meat balls cooked in it.

I wanted to get some new blinds for the kitchen - the existing ones are the same age as the house - 49 years, but this time I wanted vertical blinds. The man came this morning to measure up, but it seems our window frames are too narrow for vertical blinds. Neil says he'll extend the window frames so that we can still have the vertical ones. We'll see how that goes.

The chihuahua wasn't hurt! It just yelped and walked away OK. The owner just blamed me for his own lack of attention. I didn't go over the dog. I think maybe he pulled it too sharply

Yes I was feeling bad until I saw the footage.

Skipped breakfast as going out for pub lunch
L: fish pie with cheesy mashed potato topping. Had a whole egg in. Was lush. Then had whole chocolate brownie with raspberry sorbet. Glass white wine and soda.
10pm handful olives.
That's it for today. Nearly omad!

No incidents today!

Breakfast: 2 pork sausages and 2 fried eggs.

2nd meal will be chicken curry, possibly with chickpea "rice", if I can be bothered.

Went to the blinds shop today and chose the fabric for the new blinds. Neil parked 2 feet from the door to let me get in but it still just about finished me for the day. Never mind. Blinds ordered, and they were cheaper than I expected. So there we are - legs done, shopping done and blinds ordered. That's enough for one day. I've already had a sleep for an hour and am now having a cup of tea. BG is already high and that will make it go higher, I expect. Ah well. Can't have everything.

All your crossed fingers must have worked, the job interview went very well!
I'm likely to hear back from them at the end of the week, and I have a feeling I have a very good chance of being hired. If I am, they'll want me to work on the Vrouwenpoortsbrug in Leeuwarden. This is one of the more interesting bridges: it's narrow and it's placed in a curve in the canal, a very difficult bridge with larger ships, and there's lots of traffic, both on the road and on the water.

@Antje77 good luck with the job. I just recognised that bridge I walked across it many times when I studied in Leeuwarden.

Food today was greek yoghurt and a few nuts for breakfast a sandwich for lunch. Dinner will most likely be a leek and mince soup.

Well, by the afternoon I was shattered and couldn't get my legs to work so just had some bits of cold chicken reheated in chicken gravy. No strength left to do any cooking.

@Antje77 it's Thursday.. what happened Wednesday?
Aaargh, I was just about to go to bed after 3 nights of too little sleep in a row!
Can't ignore you though but you'll have to make do with the short version without pictures.

I had an amazingly enjoyable evening, we went to Dirk's mill shop to get millet for the soufflé, then we went to a farm with a fresh raw milk tap: throw in a euro and get a liter of the tasiest milk ever! (Yes, there was a sign saying to cook the milk, which is mandatory, can't sell raw milk without telling customers to cook it. I absolutely love raw milk!)
Supermarket after that, followed by a couple of beers in the sun in a beautiful spot at the water.
Back to his place, which is very much the same level of unkempt as mine, and I felt right at home pulling open all kitchen cabinets searching for something or perusing his bookshelves.

He cooked the millet soufflé, I made a salad, sharing a small kitchen and enjoying being in eachother's way.

We shared a horrible bed with two unaligned mattresses, my back was killing me and it was only at 6 am I was awake enough to think to ask if he had any paracetamol.
Otherwise, no fireworks but a very comfy companionship. I brewed coffee in the morning because my back didn't allow me to stay in bed longer (and he didn't seem interested in other activities), and I felt completely at home in his place so getting up first and finding coffee was not an issue at all.

So I hope there will be a second date, even if it may not be a date as such. A relationship will not happen with Dirk, but a friendship may. With some cuddles too.
We'll see!

Thank you. Now you can go get some sleep.
